The Metalsmith
Paul De Visscher lived and worked only a few houses away. Entering his workshop was like visiting another time. He was one of the last smiths in Flanders and well known for both his beautiful work as his quiet but pleasant and friendly personality. I had the opportunity to shoot a series of portraits of him, at work in his forge in the late '90s.
Shot on Ilford HP5 plus black and white 35mm film with my dads old Nikon F-501...
